About the instructor: Lauren Hertel

I develop online training programs for knowledge workers interested in improving their 21st century remote working skills. I currently focus on students, teachers, professors, and green building professionals, but hope to branch out into other professions soon.

Before starting my company, I taught multimedia journalism skills to broadcast students at the University of Florida for several years.  Before that, as an online editor in California, I developed a model four-month multimedia training program for the community news group of Dow Jones and I continue to do a lot of consulting and traveling for the U.S. State Department.

I holds graduate degrees in Journalism and City & Regional Planning from the University of California at Berkeley.

I've had some fun and exciting experiences as a journalist, including a summer I spent interning with the United States Army in the Mojave Desert. I've lived in Louisiana, New York City, Berlin, and more, and I speak German fluently. Oh, and I LOVE to salsa dance, but don't get to very often these days since I'm expecting twins!
