Grading

Course Points

The course consists of 15 modules, each on a different topic.  Each module contains some combination of discussions, assessments and lab assignments, all of which must be completed before you move on to the next module. In lieu of a final exam, you will submit a link to your blog, which will be a compilation of all of the lab assignments you did throughout the course.

Grading Individual Assignments

I will grade the discussion posts in your journal based on the throughness and thoughtfulness of your responses. Remember to keep within any word limits given in the individual discussion assignments.

The assessments (quizzes) are mostly automatically graded by the E-Learning system. Your grade will be available in the system as soon as you submit the quiz.

You will review your own lab assignments for each module using a grading rubric as you complete them. There are extensive tutorials within the course that are designed to help you correct any errors you made the first time and improve your work until it is perfect. These labs build on each other to form the final blog assignment, which you will submit at the end of the course.

Working Together

You are welcome to work with a group of friends or colleagues on your discussions, assessments, and assignments for this class. In fact, you will probably find it both enjoyable and productive to do so. Keep in mind, however, that everyone must do original work for the course. There will be no sharing of media files!
